Carlisle Sports Emporium
Carlisle Sports Emporium is located in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and is a family-entertainment center that features an arcade, mini golf, go-karts, and other recreational activities.
The facility has plans for an addition that renovates the site into filling out most of its parcel. The project involves the expansion of the parking lot, over a 60,000 square foot building addition, and the creation of several outdoor leisure and activity areas.
For this project, I was responsible for creating renderings that showed the existing site versus the proposed addition. Additionally, I designed the layout for the parking lot, testing its turns against vehicle radii, and landscaping. I also assisted in designing the site landscaping and all other elements to meet both aesthetic and ordinance requirements. The process for design includes permitting, infiltration field testing, and report writing. This project highlights my ability to integrate design, engineering coordination, and regulatory compliance into a cohesive and buildable plan.
Sisters of St. Basil House of Prayer
St. Basil House of Prayer is a religious facility located in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, that went through a thoughtful renovation to better serve its spiritual community. The project involves transforming the existing church to include residential living quarters for the nuns, while also improving site functionality through the expansion of parking areas and the enhancement of outdoor spaces for quiet reflection and recreation.
My role in this project centered on the development of detailed renderings and mapping materials that communicated both the existing conditions and proposed improvements. These visualizations were essential in guiding client decisions and were also prepared to meet the standards to various regulatory agencies involved in the permitting process. In addition to creating these technical graphics, I designed a serene and functional landscape plan that complemented the character of the site and included a walking loop to support outdoor meditation and wellness. This project exemplified my ability to create context-sensitive designs while also managing the technical and regulatory aspects necessary for project approval and implementation.
